Gloria Phelps Obituary Gloria Jean Phelps, age 74, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born June 11, 1945 in Camp Rucker, AL to Dewey and Ruth (Wilson) Porter. Gloria was a resident of Shelby for the majority of her life. She worked at Miami Systems as a Collator Operator. Gloria was an active and highly involved member at Taylortown Community Church. Above all, she loved spending time with her family; children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Phelps whom she married December 8, 1962; her two children Kelly (Joseph) Phelps-Marino of Bradenton, FL and Karen Bonnett of Columbus; daughter-in-law Lisa Phelps of Columbus; five grandchildren Brandon, Jared (Zolo), Dustin (Ashley), Brittany, and Colin; four great grandchildren Alexander, Jocelyn, Jagger, and Lexi; her brother Keith (Terri) Porter of Norwalk, and her sister Sue Petry of Shelby. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her son Kenneth in 2006; and her brothers Rick and Darrell Porter.
