Hildred L. Crabbs, age 95, resident of Toledo and former Shelby resident died Sunday July 8, 2012 at Spring Meadow Extended Care, Holland, Ohio. Born November 8, 1916 in Berlin Twp., Ohio to Dwight and Levara S. (Rommell) Hardy, she had been a Shelby area resident the majority of her life moving to Toledo to live with her daughter in 2000. Mrs. Crabbs retired from Gray Drug Stores after 15 years of service and was a member of the Main St. United Methodist Church. Hildred was a fifty year member of the Rizpah Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #153, a charter member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Motorcycle Association, lifetime member of American Rabbit Breeders Association and a past member of the Grange. Survivors includes; two sons, Robert D. (Kathleen) Crabbs of Mansfield; William H. (Adele) Crabbs, of Bucyrus; two daughters, Virginia L. Totman of Toledo and Jane R. (Mack) Keller of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one great great granddaughter two brothers, Donald and Charles Hardy both of Huron, OH, nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Crabbs, Oct. 2, 1995, two great-granddaughters, Crystal and Brandy Wise, four sisters, Alice Gilbert, Gertrude Young , Margery Burry and Laura Moon; and one brother, William Hardy. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Thursday July 12, 2012 at Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Pastor Ron Smals will officiate with interment in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM where Eastern Star services will be held at 8:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
