Inez M. Smith, age 88, resident of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at her home. Born June 8, 1926 in Carter County, Kentucky to George and Elizabeth (Snipes) Webb she had been a Mansfield area resident for many years moving to Shelby in 1978. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Taylortown Community Church. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and cooking for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Chlotene Noble of Shelby; two sons, Gene (Connie) Smith of Plymouth and Frank (Candy) Smith of Cleveland; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Smith in 1980; seven brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Taylortown Community Church in Shelby. Reverend Douglas Tackett, her pastor, will officiate with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Friends may call at the church Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the church service on Friday.
