Jacquelyne Davies Obituary Jacquelyne Ruth Davies, age 91, died Friday, July 11, 2025 at the Willows of Willard Nursing Facility. Born January 28, 1934, in Cleveland to Edward R. and Emma (Radick) Gertz, she had been a Shelby resident since 1953. Before moving to Shelby, Jackie graduated from Parma High School in 1951, and worked at the W. Bingham Wholesale Hardware Co. in Cleveland, where she met her husband, T. Earl Davies. They were married on August 22, 1953, and began living in Shelby. She worked for ABC Childcare for 11 years, two years in the infant room, and nine years as a cook. Jackie was employed at the Shelby Mutual Insurance Company as secretary for 10 years. Jackie was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, served on the church council, and was involved with the praise team for numerous years. Also a member of the Worship and Outreach Committee, she organized the assistant minister and lector list. She volunteered her time at the food pantry, and was a member of the W.I.T.S. widows group, and several card clubs. Jackie enjoyed cooking, and made many dinners at church and for other occasions. For 15 years she prepared the Thanksgiving Day dinner at the First Lutheran Church. Jackie was a proud recipient of the Jess Rath Christian Volunteer Service Award in 2011. She lived a full and happy life, and had many hobbies and interests. Jackie enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, crafts, leading, having picnics with her family, and spending time with her loved ones. She is survived in death by her children: Pamela (Bob - deceased) Copper of Bucyrus, Gale (Jay) Adams of Shiloh, Kimberly (James) Vess of Howard, OH, Brenda (Dave - deceased) Evans of Sunbury, OH, Brad (Barb) Davies of Fredericktown; 12 grandchildren: Earl (Kelsey) Kendall, Donnie (Katie) Davies, Joseph (Kristy) Davies, Troy (Becky) Barker, Katrina Drake, Skyler (Markie) Adams, Kyle (Jess) Adams, James (Soni) Crist, Jackson Evans, Mathew Evans, Mitchell Metzger, Tristan Copper; 22 great-grandchildren; half-sister Donna Beavers of Morgantown, WV; daughter-in-law Donna (Hoak) Davies; as well as many other relatives. In addition to her parents and grandparents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband on May 22, 1989; son, Dale A. Davies on January 4, 2018; daughter, Katherine L. Davies on November 19, 2018. Friends may visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Russel Yoak officiating. A private interment will take place at a later date in the Mansfield Memorial Park.
