James Monroe Obituary James Lee. Monroe, age 86, died Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Laurles of Walden Park, Columbus, OH.
Born September 23, 1935, in Hudson, OH to the late James and Esther (Lee) Monroe. He was a Shelby resident from 1969-1980, then moving to Columbus in 1994; where he as lived until his passing. He was a jack of all trades. He was formerly employed with Autocall company, Christian Camping International, and most recently he was employed as a resident manager for Showe Management Corporation in Columbus, OH. He also served in the U.S Navy and was stationed in South Korea during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Sara F. (Zebold) Monroe, whom he wed on December 6, 1962. One son, Greg Monroe of Columbus, OH; one Daughter, Lisa Pobre of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Helen Smith of Brevard, NC and Judy Dain of New Mexico; and two grandson, Kent and Richard Pobre of Las Vegas, NV.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Romy Pobre.
A Memorial Service will be held with a live Zoom Streaming. Tom Wiley will officiate with interment at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby, OH.
