Jane Dunn , age 82, resident of Stein Rd. Shelby died Tuesday July 13, 2010 in Crestwood Care Center following a short illness. Born October 26, 1927 in Foraker, Kentucky to Wilbur and Eliza (Montgomery) Carty, she spent the majority of her life in the Shelby area. Jane had worked for Miller Products in Shelby and for many years had helped her husband Albert on the family farm, where she loved driving the tractor. She was member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Richland County Fairboard Women's Auxiliary. Jane enjoyed quilting, square dancing and had bowled with the mixed league in Shelby.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Dunn, whom she married December 23, 1950; one son, Ord Dunn of Evans, Georgia; three grandchildren, Carty, Spencer and Lindsay Dunn; one brother, Rev. Buddy (Carlene) Carty of Shelby; two sisters, Ressie(Merle) Winters of Ft. Myers, Florida and Beulah (Paul) Price of Newark, OH and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Chester, Jim, Lester, Richard and Silas Carty; two sisters, America "Mickey" Russell and Tressie Barndollar.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday July 17, 2010 from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Dr. Ron Walker of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate with interment in Broken Sword Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
