Joe Scherer Obituary Joseph 'Joe' Jay Scherer, age 62, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his home in Shelby. Born January 26, 1962, to Robert S. and Mary Louise (Stout) Scherer in Shelby, he had been a lifelong area resident. A 1980 graduate of Shelby High School, Joe then went on to attend Pioneer to become a diesel mechanic and continued working as a mechanic for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars, going to blue's music concerts, and riding his motorcycle. Joe had a kind spirit and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his brother Robbin Scherer; three nephews Bobby Elliott of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kevin (Megan) Scherer of Shelby, Michael Scherer of Cincinnati; one niece, Jennifer (Alex) Powell of Virginia Beach, VA; lady friend Sarah Patton; numerous other relatives and close friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Eilliott. Friends may visit Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
