John Wildman Obituary John M. Wildman, age 80, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 2, 2022 with Family by his side after a sudden illness. John was born June 6, 1941 to George and Bertha (Stephan) Wildman and lived his entire life as a proud resident of Shelby, Ohio. John lived a humble life with a strong foundation of loyalty for family and friends. Like his own father, John never ventured far from Shelby except to visit family or participate in golf trips with friends. John was a quiet man but when he did speak he spoke from his heart. John graduated from Shelby High School in 1959 where he lettered in both baseball and football. At a very young age he participated in the very first Little League established in Shelby. He loved following the Whippets, Buckeyes, Browns and Indians/Guardians and had his favorite shirt and hat for each sport in his collection. John retired after 40+ years from the old Shelby Sales Book Company as a senior press operator. John was a member of both the local Eagles and Owls Organizations and valued his time socializing with his friends. . . good friends who swore they could set their watches by John's routines. It has always been a comfort to us his family that good people cared for and about John in our absences. John leaves behind 3 children he describes as: 'The Joy of My Life', Amy Wilson (Tim), Tucson, AZ, Wendy Davis (Chris), Tucson, AZ and Mark Wildman Hall (Stephanie), Urbana, OH, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by one sister, Beth Wildman, The Villages, FL. John was preceded in death by his parents George and Bertha (Stephan) Wildman, siblings Anna Wildman, Mary Stoner, Joe Wildman, Patrick Wildman and nephew James Wildman. A celebration of John's life will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 8, 2022 from the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby.
