Karen Bonnett Obituary Karen Lousie Bonnett, age 53, resident of Columbus died Sunday, July 25, 2021 unexpectedly in Shelby.
She was born August 16, 1967 to Kenneth and Gloria (Porter) Phelps in Shelby. Karen was a 1986 graduate of Shelby High School and had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life before moving to Columbus in 2015. She was employed as a Licensed Optician with Lens Crafter in Mansfield. She later received her LPN certification and had been employed with Crestwood Care Center, as well as Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. She had also worked as a home health care nurse.
During the warmer months, Karen enjoyed camping at Lake Erie. She also had an interest and talent in decorating her home.
Karen is survived by her husband David Bonnett of Columbus; her son Jared (Zoljargal Khurangaa) Contrascere of Herndon, VA; step-daughter Briana Bonnett of Johnstown, OH; her father Kenneth Phelps of Shelby; sister Kelly (Joseph) Phelps-Marino of Bradenton, FL and sister-in-law Lisa Phelps of Lewis Center; two nephews Dustin Sutter and Colin Phelps, as well as numerous other family members.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter Brittany Contrascere; her brother Ken Phelps, Jr. and her nephew Brandon Sutter.
Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Funeral services will not be observed.
