Karen Peters Obituary Karen Peters, age 77, passed away Thursday November 11, 2021 at her home in Shelby. Karen was born in Shelby, Ohio to Howard and Alma Gae Leapley, who are deceased. She was raised in Galion, Ohio and Albuquerque New Mexico, graduating in Galion with the class of 1962. Karen was a past member of several organizations including Mansfield RSVP, Unlimited Singles, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Eastern Star, and was an active member of the GHS Reunion Class of 1962 and the Galion Golden Age Center. First and foremost, she enjoyed her grandchildren. Attending their school functions, dance recitals, and ballgames were a delight for her. She was an avid card player, Bunko player, loved garage sale and flea markets, enjoyed a good movie, a good book, and a wonderful meal with friends. Her second greatest joy were her friends, many of which, she had known from 65 to 72 years. Karen is survived by her Marysville, Ohio adopted family, Marylou and Aaron Marlatt, and their children, Dane, Karlie and Trevor, who have loved and cared for her for many years. She has four biological grandchildren in Bucyrus, Ohio, Garrett, Alexis, Ella, and Mekhi Broters; and cousins: Barbara Walters in Galion, Richard Jourdan in Mansfield, and several cousins in Kenton, Ohio. As Karen was an only child, she adopted friends along the way as sisters and brothers. She also treasured these close friends and considered them family, such as Barbara Anne Bradley, Jeannie Rinehart, Phyllis McElhatten, Marilyn Predmore, Heidi Alt, Charley Fry and Frank Ventrone. Karen was proceeded in death by her beloved only child, Jason Chayne Peters, her parents, and Jason's father, John Charles Peters, of Greenville, Ohio, her longtime companion, J.
