Keith A. Bloom, age 75, resident of Seneca Dr., Shelby, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Woody Ridge Golf Course following an apparent heart attack. Born October 16, 1933 in Shelby to Frank and Vera (Van Wagner) Bloom, he had been a Shelby resident the majority of his life. A 1951 graduate of Shiloh High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict. Keith was employed with Ohio Steel Tube Co. for 40 years retiring in 1991. From 1991 to 2007 he worked for Krocka & Associates. A member of the First Lutheran Church, he had served on church council and was a former Sunday school superintendent. He was a member of the American Legion Post #326, Buckeye Group of Lifeline of Ohio, Woody Ridge Golf League, and a former Shelby Country Club member. Keith had a great sense of humor and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling. He took pride in his lawn and enjoyed being outdoors. He cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Janet (Wagoner) Bloom, whom he wed August 29, 1964; one son, Daron (Laurie) Bloom of Reno, Nevada; one daughter, Mitzi (Joe) Devine of Lewis Center; five grandchildren, Andrew Genesi, Katie, Erin, and Megan Devine, Hailey Bloom and another granddaughter due July 13th; his son-in-law, Brian Gunder of Shelby; one brother, Chris Bloom of New Washington, one sister, Sandra Sheaffer of Tiro, his brother-in-law, Byron (Becky) Wagoner of North Olmsted, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tikara "Tiki" Bloom Gunder in 2002, one brother, Francis Bloom in 2004; and brother-in-law, Bill Sheaffer in 2008. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday from the First Lutheran Church in Shelby. Reverend Steven Bond will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home Sunday, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to Tikara Bloom Gunder Scholarship Fund.
