Larry Gayheart Obituary Larry Gayheart, age 70, went home to be with the lord Saturday, September 26, 2020 at his residence. Born March 5, 1950 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Thearn and Lucrecy (Gayheart) Gayheart, he was an Shelby area resident for 60 years. An active member of the Tiro United Baptist Church, he retired from Central Plastics in Greenwhich after 36 years of service. Larry enjoyed hunting. fishing, gardening and anything to do with the outdoors. He loved going to Church and most importantly, he loved being with his family, grandkids and great grandkids. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Roberta (Brown) Gayheart; sons Daniel and Dustin Gayheart both of Shelby; grandchildren Allison, Micheal and Kenny; great grandchildren Bain, Kenzlie and Baby Daisy Ann on the way; siblings, Tommy Gayheart, Terry Gayheart, Arbutus Gayheart and Velma Slone of Shelby, Clyde (Shelia) Gayheart and Thurman (Della) Gayheart of Willard, Clark (Pat) Gayheart of Bloomville, nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Madeline Browning and two brothers Lonnie and Vernis Gayheart. Friends may call the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 1:30 PM Wednesday. Reverend Merlin Dye will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. It is requested that those visiting, please be brief, practice appropriate social distancing and wear a mask. Those who have been experiencing any signs or symptoms of illness, please feel free to pay respects via mail or online condolence at www.barkdullfuneralhome.com.
