Laurel "Laurie" Lee Chapman, age 77, of Ontario, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026 from a long illness.

Born on July 1, 1949, to LeRoy Allen Scheck and Gladys Marie (Horn) Rentschler in Wadsworth, Ohio. She graduated from Cloverleaf High School in the class of 1967 and then got her Associate's Degree to become an LPN. Laurie dedicated her life to caring for others as an LPN at Galion Community Hospital, where she worked for 35 years. Following her retirement, she extended her compassion through Home Care for an additional decade.

Laurie's creativity shone through her love of crafting. She also found joy in playing slot machines and BINGO, creating treasured memories with those who knew her. Laurie was best known for her love of her cats and her family.

Laurie's memory will be lovingly held by her sisters, Mary White of Medina, Ohio, and Jerri Studer Longacre (Glen) of Withams, Virginia; her brother-in-law, Zeke Greszler of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends that were cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Michael Chapman, whom she married in March 2008, and her sisters, Katherine Eaken (Alan), Carolyn Morrow, Denise Powell, John Tisher, and Judith Greszler.
