Linda S. (Gibson) Eldridge, age 75, died Thursday March 9, 2017 at Ohio Health Mansfield. Born July 15, 1941 in Shelby to Ernest and Emma (Esterling) Adkins, she had been a lifelong Shelby resident. Linda enjoyed riding motorcycles, Florida beaches, and shopping. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Billy Eldridge whom she wed April 21, 1984; two children Jeffrey (Tammi) Gibson of Columbus and Shana (Joshua) Hoyt of Canterbury, CT; five grandchildren Shane, Shelby, Elizabeth Gibson, Amiste Cusson and Casidhe Gibson Hoyt; five great-grandchildren; four step-children Aaron Eldridge of Mt. Vernon, Billy D. (Toni) Eldridge of Dayton, Jeffrey Eldridge of Shelby, Kathy (Gene) Highfield of Shelby, one brother Bob Adkins, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by her late husband James D. Gibson, four brothers Don Adkins, Russ Adkins, Delmar Adkins, Merval Adkins; five sisters Hazel Cooper, Alice Combs, Cathline Adkins, Lorain Roberts and Bernice Pittenger. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory. Pastor James Robinson of the United Church of Christ will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shelby Help line at 29 1/2 Walnut St, Shelby, OH 44875.
