Margaret Marie Hale "Peg" Snyder, age 83, resident of Mansfield died Wednesday July 21, 2010 in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness. Born February 23, 1927 in Tiffin, Ohio to Elmer and Dora (Barber) Hale, she had been a resident of Wedgewood Estates in Mansfield. On June 2, 1946, she married Robert Dee Snyder in the Ebenezer Evangelical United Brethren Church in Tiffin, Ohio. They left the farm to enter into Christian ministry with the United Methodist Church in 1952, and spent their lives in ministry to others. Together, they served churches in Berkey, Vickery, Savannah, Willard, Shelby, Akron, Cardington and then retired to Fostoria, Ohio. They were married for 59 years when Bob preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Lanette and Chuck Cornwell of Toledo, Deborah and Mike Stanfield of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Vickie and Dave Luster of Shelby; one son and daughter-in-law, Pastor Tom and Becky Snyder of Shelby; and by a "foster" son and his wife, Tadi and Fifi Wantwadi of Atlanta, Georgia ; 24 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Robert Snyder, in 1982, a brother, Kenneth Hale, and a sister, Hildred Hale. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday from the First United Methodist Church in Shelby. Pastor Tom Snyder will officiate with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin, Ohio. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to MedCentral Mansfield Hospice.
