Matthew 'Bud' James Mott, age 74. of Shelby died Thursday morning November 2, 2017 at his home. Born August 16, 1943 in Shelby to John F. & Mary Jane (Holtz) Mott, he has been a Shelby resident the majority of his life. Bud had worked at RR Donnelley in Willard and was a member of the American Legion Post #326, the Moose Lodge and the Owls. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, woodworking and fishing especially at Lake Erie with his lake family. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Ann (Mike) Winters of Shelby; his son, Jason M. (Lika) Mott of Columbus but currently living in Almaty, Kazakhstan; six grandchildren, Grace Winters, Anastasia & Amelia Mott, Amber (Justin) Middleton, Tyson Winters and Kara Lawrence; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Kim) Mott of Livonia, MI and Russell Mott of Leesville, sister-in-law, Karen Mott of Huron; former wife, Ann Mott and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Mott. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday November 7, 2017 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory. Pastor James Robinson will officiate and friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00-4:00PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
