Michael Berry Obituary Michael L. Berry age 67, passed away at his home in Shelby Friday evening, October 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, following a year long courageous battle with cancer.
Michael was born September 30, 1957, in Shelby, OH to the late Virgil and Janice (Holland) Berry, he had been a life long Shelby resident. A 1976 graduate of Shelby High School, Mike furthered his education at NC State College, receiving two associates degrees, one in Mechanical Engineering and one in Electrical Engineering He then went on to be employed with PecoII in Galion for over 20 years, and was currently working with the Gorman-Rupp Company since May of 2010.
Mike and his wife, Debbie were devoted Christians and spent their Sundays attending multiple area churches. He enjoyed watching and going to car shows, but the most important thing to Mike was his family. He always looked forward to spending time with them and his special brothers. Mike had an absolute heart of gold and was known for putting his family first making sure they were always well taken care for. Above all else, he cherished is grandsons more than anything. They were his greatest joy in life. He was always so proud of them and all of their accomplishments.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Debra 'Debbie' (Hughes) Berry, whom he wed on February 5, 1976; their three children, Shane Berry of Lexington, Amy (Harvy) Clevenger of Crestline and Scott (Jennifer) Berry of Lexington; three grandsons, Drayton, Corbin and Gauge Berry; one sister Cheryl (Ralph) Perry of Mt. Gilead; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives who will miss him dearly.
Friends may visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, Monday, October 14, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, the following day at 10:30 AM. Reverend Matthew Pond will officiate with interment held in Oakland Cemetery.
