Michael Plantz Obituary Michael Wilson Plantz, age 68 of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Mike was born on May 1, 1956 to the late Owen Clark and Maggie Odell (Clemons) Plantz in Peru, Indiana. Mike worked for Peterson Tire as a Retread Manager. He was a member of the Mansfield Church of God where he served as an Adult Sunday School teacher for more than 40 years. He was a devout man of God, who got saved at the age of 17 and served The Lord ever since. He was known as the "tire guy" because he loved tires. He was an avid fisherman and collector of ink pens. Those who will cherish his memories include his wife of 24 years, Karen Plantz of Mansfield, Ohio, whom he married on March 4, 2000; his daughters: Missy "Skeeter" (Fred) Solze of Crestline, Ohio and Angie "Tater" (Joe) Goody of Lucas, Ohio; his nine grandchildren: Corey (Gillian) Webb, Jamie (Matt) Pfund, Chase Webb, Camden (Averi Iceman) Webb, Trevor Goody, Bryce Goody, Katelyn (Jeff Kent) Bradshaw, Alex (Blake) Gallaway and Aubrie (Blake Coffman) Pugh; his seven great grandchildren; his brothers: Chris (Debbie) Plantz of Mansfield, Ohio and Rick (Cyndi) Plantz of Loveland, Ohio; his special nephew, Jim (Jackie) Steele; his brother-in-law, Randy (Jaimee) Fannin of Greenwich, Ohio and mother-in-law, Easter Callahan of Mansfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Gerald Bean, Ruby Bean, Mildred Harsh and Linda Higginbothan. Friends and family may come to honor Mikes life from 11 am to 1pm on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Mansfield Church of God, 1425 North Stewart Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44905. A funeral service will follow starting at 1pm at the church with Reverend Jason Martin and Pastor Jake Keister officiating. A burial will follow the funeral service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenwich, Ohio.
