Patricia Sites Obituary Patricia Dell Sites, age 81, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born August 12, 1940, in Sulphur Springs, Ohio to Charles and Hattie (Bell) Newland. She graduated from Shelby Senior High School in 1958 and was an avid Whippet fan. She worked as a beautician, waitress, and at several fast-food establishments. On May 14, 1960, Patricia married the love of her life, Roger Leroy Sites, and spent 18 years traveling on Navy tours. She especially enjoyed when he was stationed in Kenitra, Morocco, and Thurso, Scotland. They attended many Navy football games, and looked forward to their yearly spring trip to Key West, Florida. Patricia was a very family-oriented woman. She was always involved in the Newland family reunions; she enjoyed attending, scheduling, and coordinating them. It made her very happy to get all her loved ones together. Patricia will be missed dearly. She is survived by her loving husband, Roger, two sons, Gregory S. (Patricia) Sites, and Jeffrey S. (Pamela) Sites; grandchildren Chelsea (Kyle) Cummings, Megan (Justin) Shigley, Rebecca (Kyle Terry) Sites, and Elizabeth (Robert Epp) Sites; two great-grandsons, Weston and Mason Shigley; a brother, Frank (Charlotte) Newland; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles Newland, and Russell Newland;six sisters, Marguerite Sowers, Helen Patterson, Donna Bercaw, Mercedes Reed, Betty Chandler and Evelyn Kalb; and daughter-in-law Sheila (Rockenfelder) Sites. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, OH. Services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 11:00AM with Pastor James Robinson officiating. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby, OH. Instead of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church at 200 W. 3rd St, Mansfield, OH 44902 or Ohio Health Hospice at 1770 W. 4st, Ontario, OH 44906.
