Richard Broka Obituary Richard L. Broka , always the perfect gentleman, followed his wife when he passed Sunday September 19, 2021 at Country Meadow Care Center in Bellville. Born September 14, 1929 to Rutherford and Elsie Broka in Sugar Ridge, Ohio. He attended both Bowling Green State University and Wright State University where he had received his masters degree. He taught Industrial Arts at Shelby Senior High School for 30 years. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, State Industrial Arts Association, and the Richland Lapidary Arts Society. Richard enjoyed sailing, woodworking, machining, lapidary arts, stained glass, silversmithing, jewelry making, rockhounding, pursuing knowledge, inspiring and motivating his children, grandchildren, friends and students to appreciate and learn the sailing and industrial arts. Forever the teacher, he shared his passions and nurtured the skills of his daughters, granddaughters, grandsons and delighted in the smiles of his great grandson. His strength of mind, will and faith continue to lead us. He is survived by his daughters Deborah (Jerry) d'Aquin of Burnsville, North Carolina, Cheryl (Scott) Carson of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Andrew (Kelsey) Carson, Eva (Steven) Coulson-Richardson, Zoe (Cory) Steinmetz, Derek Carson, and Aaron Carson; great-grandchild, Bennett Scott Carson; and other relatives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Marvel Broka just 5 days earlier on September 14, 2021 and brother Keith Broka. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
