Rodger Murphy Obituary Rodger Eugene Murphy, age 62, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at University Hospital in Elyria surrounded by his loving family. Rodger was born on October 30, 1959, to the late Arnold Murphy and Jeanie (Vance) Wilson in Toledo, OH. He was a man of many talents a skilled carpenter, preacher and teacher. He lived his life by his favorite verse Romans 8:18. He was an avid deer hunter and loved going hunting with his best friend Allen Cutlip. He enjoyed helping others whether giving council or cooking for his friends and making jerky. He loved bringing happiness to others. Rodger was always ready with a funny story or a good piece of advice. His true joy was being with his family, especially, his grandsons, Lukas and Jacob. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Jenni C. (Ramey) Murphy; two sons, Nick (Jessica) Murphy of Pittsburgh, PA and Joe Kilgore of Ashland, OH; two grandsons; Lukas and Jacob Murphy; nine siblings, Steve Murphy, Douglas (Lucia) Murphy, Edward Murphy, Allan (Kathy) Murphy, Michael (Dawn) Murphy, Roxanne Holly, Toni (John) Voigt and Rona Lockwood, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 9:30-11:00 a.m.. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday following the calling hours at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ben Gregg officiating.
