Ronald Baker Obituary Ronald L. 'B' Baker, age 64, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his residence in Ashland. Born August 11, 1957, in Mansfield to the late Luther T. and Gertraud 'Judy' (Kapfenberger) Baker, he was raised in Shelby, and moved to the Ashland area later in life. Ron earned an associate degree from North Central State College and worked for General Motors until his retirement. He was a member of the Ashland Eagles and Ohio Archeological Society. Ron enjoyed Indian artifacts, music, fishing, history, morel mushroom hunting, and being a grandpa or 'pop-pop.' Survivors include his wife, Jeanne (Sanders) Baker, whom he wed on December 30, 1986; four children, Alecia Lykins of Lexington, Suzanne Baker of Galion, Steve Lykins of Bellville, and Tyler Lykins of Polk; seven grandchildren, Vince Goulet, Jessica Goulet, Luke Goulet, Noah Wood Lykins, Joseph Lykins, Sam Lykins, and Stevie Lykins Jr.; two brothers, Gordon Baker of Medina and Daniel Baker of Shiloh; an uncle, Robert 'Gary' (Maria) Baker of New Castle, DE; aunt Herta McClain of Irmo, SC and many other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby. There will be no graveside services. Per the family's wishes, wearing masks will be required and social distancing is strongly encouraged.
