Ronald Spangler Obituary Ronald Lee Spangler, age 61, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer, at his home in Shelby, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 29, 1960, in Shelby to Eugene and Jeanette (Fisher) Spangler, he had been a lifelong Shelby resident. He was employed with ArcelorMittal as a carpenter. Ron was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 763 Aerie, and the Shelby Owls Club Nest #2553. A true outdoorsman, Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. He would take spontaneous adventures, and never passed up having a good time with his friends and family. He will be remembered for his fun loving personality. Ron adored his dog, Driver. He will be greatly missed, and thought of fondly by all. Ron was truly one of a kind. He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Spangler; wife of 39 years, Linda (Payne) Spangler; sons Scott Spangler of La Grande, Oregon, and Eric (Abi) Spangler of Shelby; granddaughter Lynlee Spangler and her mother Karyanne Spangler; siblings, Debra Spangler of Shelby, Gary (Debby) Spangler of Shelby, Linda (Ed) Whited of Shelby, and Douglas (Dawn Cantleberry) Spangler; sister-in-law Patricia (Tommy) Thompson of Shelby, brother-in-law George Payne of Norwalk, mother-in-law Doris Payne-Biglin; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Spangler, and brother-in-law Martin Payne. Friends and family are invited to visit the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Chris Mileski officiating.
