Shirley A. Phillips age 66, died Wednesday November 9, 2016 at Ohio Health in Mansfield. Born June 13, 1950 in Elliott County, KY to Fred and Delma (Harvey) Winkelman, she had been a Shelby resident for the majority of her life until moving to Lexington in 2013. Shirley had been the dietary manager at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby for 37 years before retiring in 2013. She had enjoyed shopping, reading, doing crossword puzzles, spending time with her friends and family, especially her beloved dog Bella. She is survived by her Daughter Tina (Jeff) Viars of Lexington; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Marisa) Hawkins of Ontario, Taylor Viars of Lexington, Kayla Viars of Lexington; two great grandchildren Aubrey and Olivia Hawkins; two sisters Loretta Winkelman of Willard, Wanda (Vondal) Gose of Mt. Sterling, KY; one brother Rodney Winkelman of Shelby; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby. Reverend J. Art Kennard will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Barkdull Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs.
