Shirley Kathleen Porter, age 87, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born on December 11, 1938, in Louisa, Kentucky, to the late Linza and Alma (Bartram) Jordan. She spent most of her life in Shelby, where she graduated from Shelby High School in 1957 and built a life centered around faith, family, and caring for others. Shirley devoted herself to being a loving homemaker and mother, always putting her children and grandchildren at the center of her life. She attended Paradise Baptist Church in Mansfield, Ohio and found joy in life's simple pleasures - reading a good book, tending to her garden, crocheting, and making lasting memories with the people she loved most.

Shirley is survived by her four children; Tracy Wallace, Tammy (Mike) Stevens, Wendy (Matthew) Hill, and Tara Warren; two step-children, Delorse Osborne and Jeff Porter; twelve grandchildren, Justin, Jona, Jeremy, Austin, Christian, Brandie, Mason, Taylor, Thailynn, Teagan, Autumn, and Aubrey; twenty-one great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Elysia, Emalyn, Lucas, Leah, Carter, Tinleigh, Lakelynn, Linkin, Arrow, Alainey, Londyn, Joshua, Winter, Niklaus, Kol, Layne, Landon, and Arabella; and three siblings, Bob Jordan, Jim Jordan, and Valerlie Mulvane; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wendell Porter, whom she wed on June 3, 1974, sister, Doris Mullins; and precious great-granddaughter, Lily Bourne.

Friends and family may visit the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with services beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jay Hill officiating. Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory.
