Tyler Hoak Obituary Tyler Scott Hoak, age 50, passed away of cardiac arrest on Monday, March 7, 2022, at his home in Shelby. Born September 9, 1971, to Scott and Linda (Brodzenski) Hoak in Shelby. Tyler had been a lifelong area resident. A 1989 graduate of Shelby High School, Tyler was most recently employed with his family's construction business Hoakton Enterprises. Tyler enjoyed being outside. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all things nature including fishing, canoeing, hiking, hunting for mushrooms and arrowheads. Tyler loved all animals, and his dog Brutus was his best pal, he would often go to Bellville and spend the day at Gatton Rocks with him. Attending music festivals and listening to bluegrass music was another hobby of Tyler's. He also had a knack for making moonshine and had fun sampling his recipes. Above all Tyler adored his nieces and nephews and treated them like his own children. He made sure the time he spent with them was special. Tyler had the biggest heart; he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his brothers, Jason (Thalia) Hoak of Lexington, and Matthew Hoak of Shelby; nieces and nephews, Mikayla Hoak, Scott Hoak, Kennan Hoak, Savannah Eaton, and Alyson Hoak; aunts and uncles Carolyn 'Sue' (David) Kimble of Lexington, Judy (Tom) Peterson of Ontario, John Brodzenski of Lexington, Theresa (Don) Smith of Clyde, Janet Laserte of West Palm Beach, Florida, Joe (Heather) Brodzenski of Lexington, Robin Noe-Winkler, Mary Ann Robertson of Shelby; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father in 1981, his mother in 2021, and grandparents on both sides of the family. Friends and family may visit the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM to honor and celebrate the life of Tyler Hoak. A eulogy will follow at 4:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shelby Helpline 29 1/2 Walnut Street Shelby, Ohio 44875.
