William H. Ward age 61, of Shelby, passed away on August 29, 2026, at Crystal Care Center of Ashland. Born October 26, 1964, in Grundy, Virginia, to James Willard Lee and Anna Louise Ward, William found joy in his work at various traveling carnivals.

His love for wrestling, football, and traveling brought him endless delight. Known for his sense of humor, William cherished moments with family and friends.

He is survived by his siblings, James Ward, Charles Ward, Peggy McLaughlin, Laura Reader, and Donald Ward, along with several nieces and nephews.

In additions to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ellen Pitney, Clarence Ward, Barry Ward, and Brenda Lambert.

Family and friends are invited to honor William's life at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM. Pastor Rick Pelfrey will officiate with interment held in the Crawford County Memory Gardens.
