Alice Mae Salisbury
August 28, 1931 ~ February 8, 2024 (age 92) 92 Years Old
Alice M. Salisbury, age 92, resident of Parkman, OH died Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Ohman Family Living at Briar surrounded by her family.
Born August 28, 1931 in Wayland, Kentucky to Burnis Martin and Gladys (Parker) Jones, she had been a resident of Parkman since 1959. A 1949 graduate of Wayland High School in Kentucky, Alice attended Kent State University where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Alice worked as an Elementary teacher at Cardinal Schools in Parkman and Middlefield for 30 years and continued to volunteer in the school systems for several years after her retirement in 1988.
Alice was an avid reader and a phenomenal baker. For over 22 years, she enjoyed walking the beaches of the Jersey Shore with her husband and daughters.
Survivors include her two daughters; Deborah (Emile Captain) Salisbury of Phoenixville, PA, Danice (John) Donito of Galloway, NJ; her siblings; Christine Hicks of Shelby, and Bernie (Wonnie) Martin of Shelby; sister-in-law Carol Martin of Crestline; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, James H. Salisbury in 2008; brother Robert Martin and brother-in-law Homer Hicks.
Per the families wishes, services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Her nephew Jason Martin will officiate with internment being held in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Middlefield Public Library at 16167 East High St. Middlefield, OH 44062.
