Allen Striker Obituary

Allen "Al" Striker, age 63, of Shelby passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 27, 1958 to John H. and Shirley A. (Douglass) Striker in Willard, Ohio. A 1976 graduate of Willard High School, he had been a resident of Shelby for the last 46 years. Allen was employed with Carton Service, Inc. for 23 years in the Maintenance Department. He was also the owner/ operator of R.A.S. Heating, Cooling, and Electrical Services, LLC for the past 10 years. Allen considered his business more of a hobby than a job. He was a hard worker who enjoyed helping people in his community. It gave him great joy. His clients were his friends and he would always be available to assist them in any way he could. Allen was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where he helped out wherever he was needed.

Allen was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. He married the love of his life, Linda L. Striker, on August 2, 1975. He was a proud papa of five grandchildren, and uncle of one very special nephew, Nicholas. Allen adored spending weekends with his family and attending the children's sporting events. Family was very important to him. His other interests included fishing, driving his BMW, and watching car restoration shows on TV.

Allen is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Calabria); two daughters Amy M. Striker (fiancé Anthony) of Westerville, Allison M. (Matthew) Levering of New Albany; five grandchildren Ryleah Masterson, Madison, Jackson, Finley and Kylie Levering; brother Douglas H. Striker of Willard; sister Sharon (Mike) McGaff of Cedar Park, Texas; step-sister Cheryl Ross of Port Clinton; two sisters-in-law, Susan A. Kooken of Shelby and Janet K. (Barbara Keefer) Walters of Hurricane, West Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Ruth Striker, sister Kathy E. Striker, and a daughter Amber N. Striker, who was born still.
