Alma F. Kegley, age 67 died Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.
Born December 15, 1954 in Willard to Arthur and Mollie (Vanderpool) Stephens, she had been a Plymouth and Shelby resident for the majority of her life. She had received her GED from Pioneer Adult Education in 2000 and was very proud of obtaining her diploma. Alma had worked as a nurses aid for numerous years at Caring for you residence care in Shelby and had worked at various nursing homes in the area, including Hillside Acers in Willard. A devout Christian woman, she had been a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Shelby. Alma loved Shirley Temple and collected her memorabilia.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack A. Kegley, whom she wed June 23, 1973; three children, Mathew Kegley of Clearfork, April Kegley of Lancaster, OH and Jack Kegley, Jr. of Shelby; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; five siblings Gladys Fliger of Mansfield, Charles Stephens of Plymouth, Clara Sexton of Willard, Betty Goble of Shelby, Wanda Alonso of Shelby; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings James Stephens, Kenneth Stephens, Florence Crawford, Lula Sexton and Frank Stephens.
Visitation will be held at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Friday, May 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM. Pastor Matt Pond will officiate with interment held in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
