Arthur "Gene" "Weiner" Pruitt age 76, died Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton.
Born May 13, 1944 in Findlay, OH to Paul and Ruth (Groth) Pruitt, he had been a lifelong Mansfield area resident.
Gene was a 1963 graduate of Shelby High School and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam war. He had worked as a supply purchaser for Florida hospitals and bartended at Webers. Gene later worked as a car salesman at Grahams Auto Mall in Mansfield before his retirement. He was a member of the Shelby Eagles and the Port Clinton Moose Lodge. Gene enjoyed golfing and fishing with friends.
He is survived by his wife Dawn (Sutton) Pruitt, whom he wed September 13, 2003; one son Paul (Heather) Pruitt of California; two step-sons William (Mandy) Beeman of Tennessee, Christopher (Cori) Beeman of Mt. Gilead; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild; three siblings, Connie Strine of Orent, OH, William Pruitt of Mansfield, Brenda Amato of Ontario, OH, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Scott Pruitt, brother John Pruitt, special brothers-in-law Ron Strine and Joey Amato.
Per the families requests, services will not be observed.
