Christine Nina Arter, age 97, died Friday, June 24, 2022, at Mansfield Memorial Homes.
Born June 15, 1925, in Morehead Kentucky to Virgil and Mirtie (Brown) Carey, she was a Richland County resident for the majority of her life. She was employed at the Shelby Gum Company, the Swan Rubber Company in Willard and the Air Depot. Christine enjoyed gardening flowers, taking photos, collecting recipes and submitting them to magazines and she loved feeding hummingbirds.
She is survived by her children James (Cindy) Arter of Crestline and Cheryl (Robert) Kramer of Shelby; grandchildren Scott (Christie) Clabaugh of Shelby and Katie (Matt) Ventrone of Shelby; great grandchildren Tyler and Zachary Clabaugh, Tanner and Bentley Ernst and Parker Ventrone; siblings Nancy Armstrong of Lincoln, MO, Grace Hoskins of Wisconsin; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Arter in 1998; siblings Estil Carey, Hobart Carey, Ray Carey, Joe Carey, Oval Carey, Ann Burkett, Doris Ernsberger, and Leroy Carey; grandson Brian Clabaugh in 2010.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
