Clark Orval Downing

Clark Orval Downing, age 84, resident of Shelby died Monday, December 20, 2021, at Ohio Health Mansfield surrounded by his loving family.

 He was born July 12, 1937, in Norwalk, OH, to the late Clifford (Beverly Canfield) Downing.  He was a long-time resident of Shelby, OH for over 50 years.  He served in The United States Air force before working in maintenance for the local postal service. He was a jack of all trades.  He could repair anything and everything.  But, most of all he loved spending time with his family and serving the Lord. He would turn to the Lord when he needed guidance throughout his life.  He could never stress enough to his family how important it was to follow in the footsteps of his Lord and Savior.  One of the verses that was dear to his heart was KJV Acts 17-11, "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

He is survived by his five sons, Dan (Karen) Downing of Cambridge, OH, Raymond Downing of Mansfield, Theon (Patty Gies-Trausch) Downing of Shelby, Dean (Angela) Downing of Ashland, Barry (Kristen) Downing of Winter Garden Fl; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Lester of Norwalk, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to the parents, he is proceeded by his wife, Charma Downing and infant son Michael Downing. 

Celebration of Clark's life will be held at a later date.  Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the family of Clark Downing.
