Damon Wise Obituary

Damon Eugene Wise, age 74, died Friday, December 17, 2021, at his home in Mansfield. 
 
Born December 23, 1946, in Mansfield to Robert and Rosemary (Eller) Wise, he had been an area resident the majority of his life. He served our country in the United States Army. Damon received a master's degree from The Ohio State University Mansfield branch. He worked at General Motors in the maintenance department. 

A generous philanthropist, Damon was very passionate about giving to various charities throughout his life. Especially the March of Dimes and Native American Tribe charities. A quiet, but loving man, Damon also generously gave to his family. he had helped many of them purchase their first homes and vehicles.
 
A member of the United Autoworkers Union and the American Legion Post 326 in Shelby, he loved baseball and was a passionate football fanatic. He was very proud that he was a member of the 1965 undefeated NOL whippet football champions. 
 
Damon is survived by one sister Ellen (Wise) Connelly & her husband Jon Connelly of Shelby, Ohio; two nieces Susan (Connelly) McClain & Susan's husband Jeff & their children twins William & James all of Mansfield, Ohio. Jennifer (Connelly) Taylor & her children Eric, Caleb & James Robinson & his sons Aiden, Carson, Grayson and all of Shelby, Ohio and one nephew Benjamin Allen Connelly of Shelby, Ohio. He is survived by nephew Aron Clark Wise & his wife Sara (Garrison) Wise & their children Taylor Lyanne, Alivia Autumn & Aron Clark Wise, Jr., of Crestline, Ohio.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death brother Steve Wise, Grandmother Ruth Hooper, grandparents Benjamin and Lucille, step-grandparents William Hooper and Leemie Wise, his great nephew Benjamin "Baby Ben" Alvin Jon Robinson in 1992, his niece Sheri Lynn Wise in 2000, his great niece Amelia Claire Wise in 2005.

Private funeral services were held.
