Daniel Lewis Hockenberry, age 80, died Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Avita Health System-Galion Hospital.
Born October 22, 1941 to Charles and Dorothy (Fetters) Hockenberry in Mansfield, he had been an original resident of Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1961. He most recently had resided in Leesville for the last 14 years. An Air Force veteran, serving from 1962-1966, Daniel was employed with the Ohio Seamless Tube as a field spark tester for over 40 years.
Dan was a member of the American Legion, O'Brien Post #326, he was also involved in the Eliminators Car Club of Bucyrus, Ohio. Antique cars were a big hobby of Dan's. He enjoyed getting in his truck and stopping by to visit with friends. Another interest of his was vintage toy collecting.
Survivors include his siblings, Steven (Janet) Hockenberry of Shelby, Gloria (Larry) Waldruff Mansfield, Mark (Lynn) Hockenberry of Dandridge, Tennessee, Chuck Hockenberry of Shelby; best friend Guy Campo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Melinda Hockenberry.
Friends and family are invited for visitation at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory Monday, April 11, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00PM. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Rich Hurls officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Military honors will be provided by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad.
