David "Butch" Ryman, Sr. age 79 resident of Shelby died Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Ohio Health Mansfield.

Born December 4, 1942 in Willard to Joseph and Lizzie (Moomaw) Ryman, he had been a Shelby resident for the majority of his life.  Butch had worked at PPG in Crestline for 44 years, before his retirement in 2005. An avid outdoorsman, he had loved spending time in nature, hunting, fishing, and wood burning. Butch also enjoyed gardening and camping. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his friends and family, especially cooking out.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Heydinger) Ryman, whom he wed January 20, 1962; three children David ("Noy" Pranee) Ryman Jr., of Suffolk, VA, Tammy Stephens of Willard, and Kristie (Keith) Evans; nine grandchildren Chat Chai Cosby of Newport News, VA, Eric Cosby of GA, Dustin Wheeler of Willard, Megan Contreras of Willard, Brandy (Nate) Nedolast of Plymouth, Morgan (Austen) Hicks of Shelby, Taylor Evans Columbus, Brian Evans of Maryland, Ashley Evans of Crestline; five great-grandchildren, Brennon Contreras, Aiden Contreras, Lillian West, Bowen Nedolast, Kolsen Hicks; three siblings, Arlene Hill, Louise (Ralph) Wurm, Shirley Clawson, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by nine siblings, Anna Mae Smith, Mary Mock, Ramona Pennell, Raymond Ryman, Stan Ryman, Elmer "Pete" Ryman, Paul Ryman, Norma Evans and Iona Olson, and a son-in-law, Christopher Stephens. 

Graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby, Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Pastor James Robinson will officiate.
