In loving memory of Delta Gail Salyers Blankenship, age 69, she received her angel wings Sunday, January 16, 2022, after a brief illness.
Born February 24, 1952, to Richard Elwood and Fredia Mae (Wooten) Salyers in Logan, West Virginia. Gail retired from Arctic Cat Inc of Bucyrus, she also worked at Newman Technology of Mansfield, Ohio.
Gail loved her family. She loved having big get together's for them and would do anything for her kids. She was a very hard worker. She had a love/hate relationship with gardening. But the end result was she could can and give out the fruits of her labor. Besides the love of canning, she loved to bake. Especially making cakes for any occasion. Another hobby she had was quilting.
She is survived in death by her loving husband Arlen, of 40 years; two sons Chris (Mindy) of Milton, Pennsylvania, and Chad (Missy) of Shiloh; daughter Doty (Jason) of Shiloh; stepson James (Brooklyn) Blankenship of New London; 11 grandchildren; sisters Wanda Salmons of Ashland, Kentucky, Lynn (Donnie) Roberts of Shiloh, Robin (Joey) Green of Madison, West Virginia; brother Richard (Niawana) Salyers of Harts, West Virginia; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Arlen Jr.; sisters Connie and Sharon; brothers Rick and David; all of Logan County, West Virginia.
The family will be accepting friends, family, and neighbors at the Barkdull Funeral Home on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home, Saturday at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery, Shiloh, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral costs.
