Denis Allen Du Vall

Denis Du Vall, age 84, resident of Galion, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 14, 2023 in his home.

Born February 10, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY to Clarence Leon and Loraine Ella (Hanke) Du Vall, he had been a Galion resident for the past 17 years. A 1958 graduate of Shelby High School, Denis had joined the United States Air Force after graduation and proudly served until 1965 when he began working for the federal government. In his younger years, Denis enjoyed traveling. Among his favorite adventures were trips to Germany and Paris, France; he spoke fondly of these trips had always dreamed of returning to both places. 

In recent years Denis liked to watch television. A compassionate man, he was known to feed and care for neighborhood animals. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Judith R. Duvall, whom he wed on September 27, 1993; three children, Denis Du Vall of Florida, Karen Loehr of Newburgh, Indiana, and Scott Du Vall of Columbus; a sister, Dore Cannon, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

Denis was preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Barkdull Funeral Home, 33 N. Gamble St., Shelby, OH 44875. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Tackett officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Squad.
