Denny Ramsey, age 69, died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Ohio Health Hospital in Shelby.
Born May 27, 1951 in Shelby to James W. and Rita G. (Young) Ramsey he had been a life long Shelby resident. A 1969 graduate of Shelby High School, he was employed as a crane operator for Arcellor Mittal retiring after 46 years of service. Denny was an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam war and was a member of the Shelby Owls Club, Eagles Club, American Legion Post # 326, Richland County Fish and Game and Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Over the years, Hi-Pockets enjoyed hunting, gardening, his many cherished pets and was an avid follower of the Michigan Wolverines Football Team.
He is survived by two brothers, Bob (Sandy) Ramsey, Gary (Donna) Ramsey and sister in law Allyson Ramsey all of Shelby ; nieces and nephews, Jeff Yates and Jennifer Yates, Sara (Roger) Endicott, Scott Ramsey, Hali (Kevin) Baker, Glenn Bond, Ashley (Josh) Enright, his uncle Charlie (Ginny) Young of Shelby; step-son Jeff Friebel; many great nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Christopher "Pete" Ramsey in 2015.
Private graveside services will be held in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
