Ernie L. Fox, 66, resident of Shelby died Thursday September 23, 2021 in Avita Bucyrus Hospital. He was born August 10, 1955 in Shelby and had been a lifelong area resident. Ernie was a 1973 graduate of Shelby High School. He was employed with UPS in Mansfield retiring in 2008 following 33 years of service. Most recently, he was employed with a security company for the Richland Mall.
He was a member of the McElroy Rd. Church of Christ in Mansfield where he served as a Deacon, Teacher and Worship Leader.
Ernie was a huge Ohio State fan and enjoyed traveling, camping and cooking. He was an avid reader and amateur Historian. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Terri (Gallaway); two sons Zachary (Tess) Fox of Cincinnati and Skyler (Ashley) Fox of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren Asher, Eli, Oliver and Violet; his mother Ruth Compton of Ontario; two brothers Emmett Fox of Warren, Michigan and Gordon Fox of Tempe, Arizona; three sisters Linda (Lou) Zsoldos of Lexington, Carey Zahn of Shelby and Janet (David) Cranfill of Allen, Texas; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father Danley Fox.
Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory Wednesday September 29, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Dean Jackson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to McElroy Rd. Church of Christ, 297 N.
