Gary Lee Brumback

Gary Brumback age 74, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 11, 2020 at OhioHealth Shelby. 

He was born September 20, 1945 in Shelby to Leroy and Ruth (Heimann) Brumback. He had been a Shelby resident for the Majority of his life, previously living in Plymouth. Gary was a graduate of Plymouth High School and earned his Associates Degree from Oberlin Business College. He was a the Co-Owner of Shelby Furniture, and later retired from Barnes & Noble in 2013 as a receiving manager. He served in the Ohio National Guard and was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge in Shelby. Gary enjoyed taking trips to the cabin with his wife Judy, and playing cards, especially Euchre. Above all, he loved watching his grandchildren in their sporting and musical activities. He was their biggest fan and never missed an event.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (Hunter) Brumback whom he wed November 4, 1967; two daughters, Stephanie (Lance) Holloway of Shelby, and Michelle (Bryan) Day of Waco, TX, five grandchildren, Brandyn (Madoka) Day of New York City, Marilyn Day of New York City, Jacob Holloway of Berea, OH, Jenna Holloway of Akron and Jeremy Holloway of Shelby; and one brother-in-law Ed Hunter of Toledo.  

Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory Monday, June 15, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The family kindly requests that those visiting please practice appropriate social distancing and wear a mask if you are able. Those who have been experiencing any signs or symptoms of illness, please feel free to pay respects via mail or online condolence.
