John I. Roberts Jr

John I. Roberts Jr., age 69, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at his home in Shelby surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 14, 1951 to John and Mildred (Gregory)  Roberts. John was a graduate of Shelby Senior High and a lifelong Shelby resident. He worked on many farms across the states and was a member of the NHRA. He loved anything outdoors, whether it was working on the numerous farm, hunting or fishing. He loved building Lego sets, but more than anything, John loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his five children, Tina (Brian) Kelley of Highlands, TX, Lesliee Dillman of Shelby, Ronald (Robin) Roberts of Shelby, Michelle Dillman of Shiloh and Terresa Roberts of Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his brother Roger (Terry) Roberts of Shelby, and his two brother in laws Sonny Mills and Dale Copley; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in Death by his beloved wife Terry Roberts whom he married July 23, 1996; and his two sisters, Mary Mills and Karen Copley. 

Friends may call Thursday January 14, 2021 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family to offset funeral expenses.
