Joyce A. Adams

Joyce A. Adams, age 88, resident of Shelby died Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at her home.

Born in Erie County, Milan Township on December 27, 1931 to Carl E. and Hulda E. (Leber) Weilnau she had been a Shelby area resident since 1958. She was a 1950 graduate of Milan High School. She had helped her husband Kenneth for many years on the family farm and retired from employment with the Shelby Daily Globe.  

She was a member of the Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, the Hazel Grove Grange and was active with the Sunshine Club. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, tending to her flowers and square dancing with the Cloverleaf Square Dance Club. She loved to travel and along with her husband and brother and sister-in-law had driven to Colorado four times. She also met many new friends on her several Travel Magic bus trips. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her husband Kenneth L. Adams whom she married October 11, 1958;  four sons, John K. Adams and Kathi of Shiloh, Jeffrey L. (Janet) Adams and James C. (Robin) Adams all of Shelby and Jay G. (Gale) Adams of Shiloh; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one on the way, nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence, Norman and Howard Weilnau and one sister Doris Strong.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, 29 Main St W. Shiloh, OH 44878.

A graveside memorial service will take place 11:00AM Monday April 20, 2020 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Pastor Blanche Tyree  will officiate. Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby is assisting the family with arrangements.
