Kelli Carter Obituary

Kelli Carter, age 40, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Summa Akron City Hospital following an extended illness.
Born November 17, 1982, to Scott Carter and Tresa Fulton, she primarily resided in Mansfield. Kelli was employed with the YMCA and worked as a lifeguard and instructor for various activities including swimming, aerobics, and other exercise classes. She was passionate about teaching at the "Y" and loved making connections with all the great people she met there.
Kelli was an avid gardener with an impressive green thumb.  She adored animals and was passionate about music.  Building fires, boating, kayaking, swimming and pretty much any outdoor activity brought her so much happiness. She was a sweet and silly, beautiful soul who will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.
Survivors include her son, Gavin Adkins; father, Scott (Melissa) Carter; grandmother, Shirley Fulton; sisters, Kristy Carter of Copley, and Angelia (Travis) Stantz of Mansfield; nephews, Leo Stantz, and Luke Stantz; as well as other relatives and friends.
Kelli was preceded in death by her mother, Tresa Fulton in 2022; paternal grandmother, Phyllis J. (Young) Carter Fort; paternal grandfather, Arnold Carter; and maternal grandfather, Thomas Fulton Sr.
A private memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate the life of Kelli. Interment will then take place in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
