Obituary
LaRay J. Kovach, age 76, of Shelby passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at OhioHealth Mansfield.
Born November 28, 1946, in Mansfield, to the late Andrew Kovach and Gertrude Scott, she graduated from Madison High School and later attended North Central State College. LaRay worked in manufacturing for many years before changing careers to work in home health care. Always driven to help those around her in any way that she could, LaRay excelled in home health care and was passionate about providing her clients with the best care and treating them as her own family. LaRay will be remembered by all that knew and loved her as a compassionate, loving person who constantly put others before herself.
Survivors include a son, Terry Kovach of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Terry Kovach, Jr., Tyrell Kovach, and Arieanna Kovach, and a chosen son whom she loved as her own, Taurell Favors and his wife June of Mansfield.
In addition to her parents, LaRay was preceded in death by a brother, Dana Kovach; sister, Kay Hartman; and her chosen mother, Gladys Long.
In accordance with LaRay's wishes, there will be no services at this time. The Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the family with their arrangements.
