Leona Mae Muncy age 75 and resident of Shelby, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at OhioHealth Mansfield.
Born April 21, 1946 in East Lynn, West Virginia to Gazel and Alberta (Isaacs) Puskas, she had been a Shelby resident since 1965.
Leona was a nursing assistant at the Heritage Care Center in Shelby for 30 years. A member of the Journey Life Center, she had enjoyed quilting, crocheting, doing jigsaw puzzles and being with her loved ones.
She is survived by her three children; Denise (David) Friebel of Shelby, Teresa Muncy of Columbus and Ray (Lashonda Clark) Muncy Jr. of Shelby; three grandchildren Zach, Sarah and Courtney Friebel; three step-grandchildren Samantha and Michael Elswick, and Schae Clark; one step-great-granddaughter Ava Hoskins; three siblings Pearl Ross of North Carolina, Violet Ross of Illinois, Mack (Claira) Puskas of Florida; her sister-in-laws, Elaine, Ruthie, and Jennie Puskas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her eight brothers Jerry, Carson, Ronnie, Gazel Jr., Rick, Earl, Gene, and Lonnie Puskas; and three sister-in-law's Lottie Conley, Pearl Stumbo, Lola Fernan; and her brother-in-law Jimmie Muncy.
Graveside services will be at 12:30PM, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Oakland Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Philippi officiating.
