Lester E. Sexton Sr., age 74, a resident of Willard, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 8, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio to Chester Evert and Gertrude Minnie (Parlett) Sexton, he had been a lifelong Plymouth resident. Mr. Sexton was employed with Voisard Manufacturing for 29 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam war.
Lester was a jack of all trades, and a master of none. He loved to tinker in his garage and go to auctions in his free time. A devoted church attendee of the Living Truth & Faith Builders Churches in Willard, he will be remembered for his kind and generous heart. He was an inspiration to many.
Survivors include his loving wife Clara (Stephens) Sexton, whom he married March 26, 1967; two daughters, Loretta (Ronald) Porter of Shelby and Angela (Robert) Witmer of Ashland; one son Lester E. (April) Sexton, Jr. of Plymouth; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Chester E. Sexton of Tampa, Florida, Albert Allen "Sam" (Lulu) Sexton of Plymouth; two sisters, Alberta Stephens of Shiloh and Nellie A. Trowbridge of Tampa Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Luther, James, Billy, Kenneth and Shelby Sexton and one sister, Bonnie Sexton.
Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM. Pastor Fred Rowe and Pastor David Montgomery will officiate with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh.
