Marilyn Louise Osborne, age 84, of Westerville, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 23, 2021.
Marilyn was born on March 11, 1936 in Alledonia, Ohio to Ferrell Walton Moore and Edith Kathryn Sullivan Moore.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother (Jerry Moore), her sister (Shirley Butler), and her son and good friend (Hank Osborne).
She attended Luther Burbank Vocational High School in San Antonio, Texas. Marilyn retired from The Shelby Mutual Insurance Company (aka Anthem Incorporated) in Shelby, Ohio. She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Chardon, Ohio.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Charles Osborne, Shelby Ohio; Karen Graves (Rick), Flagstaff, Arizona; Susan Hartge (Bob), Shelby, Ohio; Kathleen Duffey (Mike), Ashland, Ohio; Jenny Miller (Greg), West Jefferson, Ohio; Hilda Smith (Mike), Westerville, Ohio; and Edith Dora Lynn Osborne, Cardington, Ohio. She is also survived by her sister, Shelia Soucy, of St. Louis, Missouri. Marilyn leaves behind 17 beloved grandchildren, 21 beloved great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way), and numerous beloved nephews and nieces.
Marilyn leaves behind her very special feline friend, Eddie, who gave her many hours of happiness.
Marilyn’s children immensely enjoyed spending time with their Mom and were thankful for the special conversations, in person and via telephone. She made such special memories with her family that they will treasure for the rest of their lives.
Marilyn lived life as a devout Christian and was a witness to all that knew her. Her unshakable faith in Jesus Christ was the loving testimony and true gift she gave to each of her children. She also enjoyed many things including sewing doll dresses – each unique and original (created under her pseudo-name DeMarla Originals), as well as gardening (mostly beautiful flowers), photography, and writing poetry. Her sewing and photography were ribbon winners in multiple Richland County Fairs over the years when she resided in Mansfield, Ohio.
Marilyn Osborne will be sadly missed by her family. While she will be absent from our presence in this life, we celebrate her triumphant presence now with the Lord.
Marilyn Osborne will be laid to rest at the Shelby Oakland Cemetery. Due to the current pandemic, a private visitation and funeral service for her children and their spouses will be held at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby, Ohio with Pastor Gregory Miller officiating.
A funeral service will be live streamed via the Barkdull Funeral Home's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BarkdullFH beginning Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM
