Marjorie R. Tenpenny, age 89, of Shelby died Friday, April 6, 2018 peacefully at home with family by her side.
Born January 14, 1929 in Shelby to Wiliam and Esther (Spangler) Broderick, she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. A graduate of Shelby Senior High School, Marjorie was a LPN working for Shelby Hospital for 33 years in the OB department.
Marjorie was a Cleveland sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Indians and Browns. Above all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren
She is survived by her daughter Linda (David) Smith of Sandusky and son Michael (Victoria) Tenpenny of Shelby; four grandchildren Carey Smith of Sandusky, Kelly (Tony) Poggiali of New Albany, Trisha (Joe) Wagner of Shelby, Seth (Melissa) Tenpenny of Minneapolis, MN; nine great grandchildren Sydney, Peyton, David, Derek, Owen, Dylan, Isaac, Evelyn, Salavatore ; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert John Tenpenny in 1980; brothers John, Jimmy, Don, and Eugene Broderick; sisters Kathleen Simmering, Joanne Utz, and Mary Biglin.
Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, following will be a nurse tribute given in honor of Marjorie's caring devotion as a nurse. A funeral mass will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Chris Mileski officiating. Interment will be held at the Most Pure heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's School at 26 West St, Shelby, OH 44875.
