Norbert Studer, age 93, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
Born February 8, 1928 in New Washington, OH to Frederick and Agnes (Metzger) Studer, he was a settlement resident since the age of five. A veteran of the United States Army Air Force, he was employed as a printing pressman for Carton Service where he retired after 44 years. Norbert also worked for Sears Carpet & Furniture, as well as Lewis Floors. He was a member of the K of C and the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, making crafts with his wife as she painted them, taking trips to Florida and Casinos and playing card games such as club Euchre, Pedro and Rook.
He is survived by his beloved wife Nadine Cecelia (Kress) Studer whom he wed on October 23, 1948; children, Michael (Kipper) Studer and Janet (Stephen) Lay both of Shelby, Steven (Laurie) Studer of Norwalk; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; siblings Margaret Mae Studer and Charles Studer both of Shelby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Leonard and Wilbur, Gerard, Arthur, Mary Sutter, Rosella Lanni. Imelda Albert, and infant sister Armelda Studer.
Due to the current pandemic, the family kindly requests that calling hours not be observed. A public funeral mass will be held at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Father Jim Sanford will officiate with interment held at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
